A well-established notforprofit organisation located in the heart of the Sydney CBD is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its close-knit finance team. Your new role
Reporting to the senior finance leadership team and working within a small team, you will support the day-to-day finance function with a focus on accounts payable and receivable. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing accounts payable and receivable inboxes and responding to queries.
- Processing supplier invoices and preparing weekly payment runs.
- Allocating payments and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Issuing invoices and statements and monitoring outstanding balances.
- Following up on overdue accounts and supporting debtor management.
- Assisting with month-end reporting processes.
- Providing general administrative and financial support across the team.
This is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across transactional accounting in a busy environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience in accounts payable and receivable or a similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage internal and external enquiries.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Experience in a hospitality or service-based environment will be advantageous but not essential.
