Job Description

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Defined Benefit Specialist in our Corporate Services Operations team, you’ll bring together your Defined Benefit expertise, analytical thinking and passion for great service to support our high-value employers.

You’ll take ownership of complex Defined Benefit administration, data exceptions and information quality, working closely with employers, internal teams and external stakeholders. More than resolving issues, you’ll identify trends, get ahead of emerging employer needs and find opportunities to improve our processes, technology and data.

Your expertise will also make you a trusted point of reference across the business. You’ll coach and educate others, tackle complex enquiries and help new Corporate Plans transition successfully into business-as-usual operations.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

  • Manage Defined Benefit member administration, including benefit quotes, exit documentation and ad hoc plan data supporting actuarial requirements.
  • Allocate Defined Benefit contributions and coordinate quarterly and external actuarial reporting.
  • Support Relationship Specialists and Managers with complex Defined Benefit member and employer enquiries.
  • Manage monthly reconciliation and coordination of Employer Pays invoices and respond to related enquiries.
  • Review and help develop employer and member-facing documents, ensuring information is accurate and fit for purpose.
  • Perform quality checks and provide training and coaching to strengthen service delivery.
  • Deliver end-to-end administration for high-value employers, including analysing incoming information, correcting plan data, resolving escalations and completing annual plan reviews.
  • Action complex adjustment requests and contribute to data integrity and information quality initiatives.
  • Monitor data exceptions, identify emerging trends and help implement practical continuous improvement solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on information quality and data exception resolution, educating employers and colleagues across the business.
  • Analyse complex issues and escalate them for technical resolution when required.
  • Support project transitions to successfully move new Corporate Plans into business-as-usual operations.
  • Help improve employer retention, self-service and Straight Through Processing outcomes.
  • Share your expertise through coaching and contribute to a collaborative, self-learning team environment.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You have extensive, demonstrable experience working with Defined Benefit superannuation.
  • Your analytical and problem-solving skills help you work through complex data, administration and operational issues.
  • You'll be confident educating colleagues and customers on data standards, information quality and exception resolution.
  • You're highly knowledgeable in superannuation and/or accounting systems and understand how processes and data connect.
  • You communicate complex information clearly and build effective relationships with employers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Your tertiary qualifications, ASFA/DFP credentials or equivalent practical experience will be highly regarded.
  • You'll be comfortable influencing stakeholders and negotiating solutions to complex issues.
  • You're experienced across multiple operational areas, superannuation systems or products, or you're able to demonstrate similarly broad operational knowledge.
