Your new company
This is an opportunity to join a well-established specialist disputes firm with a strong reputation in the Sydney market. With a collegiate team of approximately 35 professionals, the firm has built a successful practice acting for government departments, insolvency practitioners, corporates and private clients across a broad range of commercial disputes and insolvency matters.
Known for its hands-on approach and strong team culture, the firm offers lawyers meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure and access to high-quality work typically reserved for more senior practitioners at larger firms. The firm prides itself on being collaborative, approachable and invested in the long-term development of its lawyers.
Your new role
Due to continued growth, opportunities have arisen for two lawyers to join the firm's highly regarded Insolvency & Commercial Litigation team. Working closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers, you will be involved in a broad range of matters including:

  • Corporate and personal insolvency matters
  • Commercial disputes and litigation
  • Recovery and enforcement proceedings
  • Contractual and shareholder disputes
  • Investigations and insolvency-related claims
  • Advisory work relating to restructurings and insolvency appointments

Unlike many roles at this level, you will have the opportunity to take genuine ownership of matters, appear before courts and tribunals, manage your own files under supervision and work directly with clients from an early stage. The team acts on a mix of large-scale, complex litigation and strategically significant disputes, providing excellent exposure to both technical legal work and practical commercial problem-solving.
What you'll need to succeed

  • 4+ years' post-admission experience
  • Experience in insolvency, restructuring and/or commercial litigation
  • Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously when required
  • Strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills
  • A collaborative mindset and desire to contribute to a close-knit team environment
  • A genuine interest in building a long-term career within insolvency and commercial disputes

What you'll get in return

  • Exposure to complex and high-profile insolvency and commercial litigation matters
  • Direct access to partners and senior lawyers
  • Genuine opportunities to appear in court and manage your own matters
  • Structured mentoring and career development
  • Shared paralegal and administrative support
  • A collaborative and supportive team culture
  • One day per week work-from-home flexibility
  • Birthday leave and office closure during the Christmas period
  • Modern Sydney CBD offices
  • A clear pathway for progression
  • Competitive remuneration based on experience
