English Teacher - Cessnock NSW 2325

Inspire confident communicators and critical thinkers

Help students develop the reading, writing and analytical skills that shape future study, employment and community participation. This role offers the opportunity to deliver engaging English programs while contributing to student achievement across a key learning area.

About the Role

As an English Teacher, you will plan and deliver curriculum-aligned lessons, build strong literacy outcomes, and create learning experiences that encourage curiosity, discussion and independent thinking. You will play an important role in supporting students at different stages of their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging English lessons aligned with NSW curriculum requirements
  • Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Develop lesson plans, resources and assessment tasks
  • Support literacy development across a range of student abilities
  • Maintain accurate student records and reporting requirements
  • Contribute to faculty planning and curriculum initiatives

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary teaching qualifications
  • Current or eligible NESA accreditation and Working With Children Check
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and classroom practice
  • Well-developed communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
  • Active Christian with regular involvement in a local church and the ability to lead through faith, integrity and service.

Location

Located in Cessnock NSW 2325, this role is based in the heart of the Hunter region. Cessnock offers access to major health services, retail centres, sporting facilities and regional transport links, with Newcastle approximately 50 km away and Sydney accessible via road and rail connections through the Hunter network.
