About the Position
We are currently seeking experienced Heavy Steel Boilermakers to join an Australian-owned heavy trailer company based in Wacol. This role will involve the fabrication of heavy trailers from detailed engineering drawings, working with high-tensile steel in a fast-paced workshop environment.
The ideal candidate will come from a strong heavy steel background with stable employment history and proven fabrication experience across similar lines of work. You will be confident reading drawings, marking out materials, tacking components together, and completing high-quality welds to specification.
This position suits boilermakers who have previously worked within heavy trailer manufacturing, bucket fabrication, or similar heavy structural steel environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate heavy trailers from engineering and workshop drawings
• Read and interpret fabrication plans accurately
• Mark out, tack, and assemble high-tensile steel components
• Complete long weld runs to a high-quality standard
• Perform MIG welding and vertical up welding to required specifications
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment

Skills & Experience

• Trade qualified Boilermaker/Welder
• Experieced 2nd Class Welders welcome to apply 
• Strong background working with heavy steel and high-tensile materials
• Proven fabrication experience within trailer, structural, or heavy manufacturing environments
• Ability to confidently read drawings and complete accurate mark-outs
• High-quality welding skills with experience completing long welds
• Ability to pass weld tests including:
  • 3-run fillet MIG welds on 10-12mm plates
  • Vertical up and vertical down welding
• Stable work history within similar heavy fabrication environments
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work effectively within a team
