Overview:

Allambie Vet is a unique vet hospital on the Northern Beaches. The team at Allambie Vet are passionate about offering our patients individualised care and we pride ourselves on building long lasting relationships with our clients.

We are currently seeking a Veterinary Nurse to join the team! You will be responsible for supporting veterinarians in the delivery of high-quality animal care through clinical nursing, surgical and diagnostic assistance, patient monitoring, treatment administration, client communication, and maintaining a safe and hygienic veterinary environment. This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Allambie Heights, NSW.

Main tasks:

  1. ­Assisting veterinarians during consultations, examinations, and surgical procedures
  2. ­Preparing animals and surgical equipment for routine and emergency procedures
  3. ­Monitoring patients before, during, and after anaesthesia and surgery
  4. ­Administering medications and treatments under veterinary direction
  5. ­Providing nursing care and monitoring for hospitalised animals
  6. ­Collecting and preparing laboratory samples for diagnostic testing
  7. ­Assisting with radiography and other diagnostic procedures
  8. ­Maintaining infection control, sterilisation, and cleanliness standards throughout the clinic
  9. ­Handling and restraining animals safely and appropriately
  10. ­Maintaining accurate clinical records and patient histories
  11. ­Communicating with clients regarding animal care, treatment plans, and post-operative instructions
  12. ­Assisting with reception and general administrative duties when required
  13. ­Maintaining veterinary supplies and equipment within the practice

Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:

  1. ­Minimum of a relevant Certificate III or IV, or higher qualification
  2. ­At least 3 years' relevant industry experience

Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:

  1. Strong communication and customer service skills, able to develop lasting relationships with clients.
  2. A positive attitude, good teamwork, and a commitment to high-quality care.

Annual salary will be between $79,000.00 to $89,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
