About the Business

A privately-owned, founder-backed organisation based in Perth servicing remote mining and resource operations, and plans to expand into new market locations. The business has built a loyal client base over more than a decade and is entering its next growth phase: bringing two existing operations together into one platform, then scaling hard through organic growth and acquisitions.

This is a scale up opportunity over the next 5 to 10 years.

About the Role

This is a genuine owner-operator seat, with permanent capital backing. You'll take full P&L accountability for the business from day one, reporting directly to the founder, who is stepping back from day-to-day operations to focus on the next stage of growth for his portfolio.

In year one, you'll integrate two existing businesses into a single operation, stand up a new sales and operations structure, launch a rebrand, and hold performance steady through the transition. From there, the mandate is growth: organic expansion through a land-and-expand account model, plus integrating acquisitions as the platform scales.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning the full P&L, strategy, and quarterly execution plan
• Driving sales growth and building a structured cross-sell program across the client base
• Running the end-to-end operational engine, including export and customs processes for remote and international sites
• Building a category-based supply chain & procurement model to negotiate better pricing and terms
• Recruiting, developing and holding accountable a lean, high-performing team
• Leading systems and process improvements, including automation and AI-enabled tools
• Integrating future acquisitions into the platform

About You

You're currently in a management consulting role at a top-tier or specialist firm, and you're ready to trade advisory work for a real operating seat with genuine decision rights. You've spent your career diagnosing and recommending, and you're looking for the chance to actually own the outcome.

You'll need:

• A strong track record across strategy, operations, or transformation engagements, ideally with exposure to resources, industrials, or infrastructure clients
• Genuine commercial instincts and the confidence to take on full P&L ownership for the first time
• Comfort with lean overhead and hands-on problem-solving, not a preference for corporate infrastructure and support functions
• A bias to action and decision-making with incomplete information, rather than waiting for the perfect dataset
• Real interest in modern systems, automation and AI as tools to scale a business, not just concepts you've advised clients on
• Willingness to be based in Perth

You don't need direct industry experience or existing knowledge of the sector. What matters more is genuine appetite for ownership, resilience under pressure, and the ability to build something rather than recommend how someone else should build it.
