Our client, GOLDEN AGRI PTY LTD, a growing banana farming business, is seeking a reliable and experienced full-time Irrigationist to manage irrigation and water supply across its banana plantation. Key responsibilities include managing daily irrigation schedules according to crop requirements, operating pumps and water supply systems, maintaining irrigation pipelines and equipment, monitoring drainage, operating farm machinery, and applying fertilisers or approved chemicals through irrigation systems where required.
Duties:
- Prepare irrigation plans and schedules to meet the water requirements of banana crops.
- Determine irrigation system requirements, including water pressure, flow rates and hydraulic parameters.
- Install and operate irrigation systems, including pumps, pipes, valves and water meters.
- Monitor soil moisture and crop conditions to ensure adequate water supply across the banana plantation.
- Operate and maintain irrigation pumps and water distribution equipment.
- Inspect irrigation pipelines and fittings to identify leaks, blockages and operational faults.
- Test, maintain and repair irrigation systems to ensure reliable water distribution.
- Monitor drainage systems to prevent waterlogging and protect banana plant health.
- Apply fertilisers and approved agricultural chemicals through irrigation systems where required.
- Maintain accurate records of irrigation schedules, water usage, equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Inspect water storage facilities and assess water availability to support the plantation’s irrigation requirements.
Qualification:
·Certificate I or II or Higher
·Minimum 2-3 year of experience in related field
Salary:
·$70,000 - $85,000 + Superannuation
Working Condition:
·Full Time - 38 hours per week
