We are looking for an experienced full time Cook to join our restaurant at Caloundra, QLD 4551
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with knowledge of operating diverse kitchen utensils and equipment and using modern cooking techniques.
- Communicate with front staff regarding daily specials/ chef specials.
- Manage all kitchen operations including food preparation such as measuring ingredients, marinate and portion seafood, meat, etc and cooking.
- Maintain a high standard of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in accordance with company standards.
- Inspect raw and cooked food items to guarantee the highest quality products are prepared and served to customers.
- Manage and maintain ordering of stock and produce and check quality pf goods while receiving deliveries.
- Implementation of health and safety procedures in the kitchen
- Collaborate with management to align kitchen operations with the overall goals of the company.
Job Requirements and necessary experience:
-Trade qualifications Cert III and IV in commercial cookery or positive Trade Skill Assessment.
- Minimum of one years ‘experience as cook within a fast-paced environment.
-Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with restaurant staff and management.
-Detailed knowledge of health and safety standards
-Excellent communication skills
-Time management skills
-Frying, baking, grilling
-Assist in staff supervision and training.
-Meeting deadlines and budgets
-Assist head chef in rostering and scheduling.
