Job Description
Economic Analysis
- Conduct economic modelling and quantitative analysis to inform policy decisions
- Prepare cost-benefit analyses and economic impact assessments
- Analyse labour markets, productivity, industry performance and macroeconomic trends
- Develop forecasting models and scenario analysis
- Interpret large datasets and generate evidence-based insights
Policy Development
- Research emerging policy issues and international best practice
- Develop policy options supported by economic evidence
- Draft discussion papers, cabinet submissions, briefing notes and ministerial advice
- Support regulatory reform and legislative reviews
- Design policy frameworks that are practical, implementable and measurable
Strategy & Advisory
- Assist clients with organisational strategy and public sector transformation
- Support program design, implementation planning and governance reviews
- Develop business cases and investment proposals
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder consultations
- Present findings and recommendations to senior executives
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build relationships with government agencies, regulators and industry groups
- Consult with subject matter experts and client stakeholders
- Manage project workstreams and deliverables
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary consulting teams
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Public Policy, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline
- Honours or postgraduate qualifications (highly regarded)
- 2-8 years' experience in economics, public policy or management consulting
- Experience undertaking economic analysis and policy research
- Strong understanding of Australian public policy and government processes
- Experience preparing high-quality written reports and client deliverables
