DRD Group is seeking an experienced Rig Geologist to join a Resource Definition team at a major Pilbara iron ore operation.
This is a field-based role suited to a Geologist with Australian mining or exploration experience and previous exposure to RC drilling and rig logging. You’ll work closely with drilling crews and the geology team, supporting an active resource definition drilling program.
Key Responsibilities
- Logging RC drill chips at the rig
- Monitoring sample quality and geological data
- Supporting daily drilling activities and field-based tasks
- Maintaining accurate geological records and data
- Working closely with drilling crews and the geology team
- Following site safety procedures and mine-site requirements
Requirements
- Geology or related Earth Science degree
- 2+ years Australian mining or exploration geology experience
- Previous Australian FIFO / mine-site experience
- RC drilling / rig logging experience
- Current C Class Manual Driver’s Licence
- 4WD competency
- Strong geological logging and sampling skills
- WA mining experience highly regarded
- First Aid Certificate desirable
