The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Grants & Governance Officer to join a dynamic CEO Office team. This role plays a key part in identifying and securing external funding opportunities, managing grant processes, supporting strategic projects and assisting with governance functions to ensure legislative compliance and organisational best practice.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will contribute to the delivery of community outcomes through high-quality grant submissions, policy development, research, reporting and governance administration.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identifying, researching and monitoring grant funding opportunities across government, non-government and industry sources, ensuring projects are aligned with strategic priorities and funding criteria.
- Preparing, coordinating and supporting the development of grant applications, funding submissions and associated documentation to maximise funding outcomes and organisational revenue streams.
- Maintaining accurate grants registers, databases and reporting systems to track opportunities, applications, funding agreements and project delivery requirements.
- Providing research, analysis and administrative support to senior leadership on governance, compliance and strategic initiatives.
- Assisting with the development, review and maintenance of policies, procedures and governance documentation to support organisational compliance and continuous improvement.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory requirements to ensure governance practices remain compliant and up to date.
- Managing records, registers and confidential information with a high level of accuracy, professionalism and discretion.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement activities and working collaboratively across departments to progress funding and governance objectives.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience preparing successful grant applications, funding submissions and budgets, with the ability to identify opportunities and manage competing deadlines.
- Strong written communication skills with demonstrated experience developing reports, policies, submissions and governance-related documentation.
- Excellent verbal communication and relationship-building abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Experience researching, developing and implementing policies, procedures or governance frameworks within a professional environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
- High-level proficiency across Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Cairns region, working Monday to Friday. Applicants must be able to work from the Cairns region and have the legal right to work in Australia in a manner that allows them to meet the ongoing requirements of the position.
