Senior Mechanical & Piping Designer
Location: Brisbane, QLD (Hybrid)
Contract: 12 Months (Ongoing)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical & Piping Designer to support the delivery of major mining and resources projects. The role involves producing and coordinating mechanical and piping design deliverables across FEED, detailed design, construction support, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review 3D models, equipment layouts, piping arrangements, isometrics, and design drawings.
- Prepare piping GAs, support details, plot plans, and construction documentation.
- Coordinate with process, civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
- Conduct model reviews, clash detection, and design quality checks.
- Support both brownfield and greenfield project delivery.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of Mechanical and Piping Design experience.
- Strong background in Mining, Minerals & Metals projects.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following design software packages: E3D, SP3D, Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or MicroStation.
- Experience across FEED, Detailed Design, EPCM, Construction Support, and Commissioning.
- Exposure to mineral processing plants, materials handling systems, mining infrastructure, or water/slurry pipelines.
