About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements, technical specifications and system requirements to determine appropriate software development approaches.
- Design, develop and maintain software applications using suitable programming languages, frameworks and development tools.
- Develop and integrate APIs, databases, cloud-based applications and supporting software components.
- Prepare technical designs, software specifications and development documentation in accordance with project requirements.
- Conduct software testing, debugging and troubleshooting to identify defects and ensure application quality, stability and performance.
- Implement software enhancements, system integrations and application upgrades to improve functionality and operational efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews, version control and established software engineering practices to maintain code quality and consistency.
- Support software deployment, release management, continuous integration and continuous delivery processes where applicable.
- Identify technical risks, investigate software issues and recommend effective solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, architects, developers and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A relevant qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in software development, application engineering or a related technical role.
- Strong programming skills and an understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture and development principles.
- Experience with databases, APIs, application integration and software development frameworks.
- Knowledge of software testing, debugging, version control and quality assurance practices.
