Investment Operations Analyst - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Role and Company Overview

Our client is a highly regarded global investment manager. They’re looking to appoint an Investment Operations Analyst to join their Sydney team on a 12 fixed-term contract, with an anticipated start in mid-late September.

This is a hands-on BAU role supporting investment teams across the end-to-end portfolio and trade lifecycle. You’ll oversee outsourced middle-and back-office activities, investigate portfolio manager queries and work closely with the trading desk to resolve operational issues.

Aladdin experience is highly regarded in this position. Using Aladdin, you will support portfolio administration, investigate investment-team queries and ensure trading and operational activity is processed accurately across the end-to-end portfolio lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide middle-office and trade-support coverage across equities, fixed income and FX.

• Oversee outsourced activities, including trade matching, reconciliations, settlement issues and failed trades.

• Investigate and respond to portfolio manager queries, understanding how issues affect the end-to-end portfolio lifecycle.

• Process client cash activity and support the trading desk with execution-related issues.

• Support corporate actions, month-end reporting and the reconciliation of data between internal and external systems.

• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, controls and risk management.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in investment operations, middle office, trade support or portfolio administration within investment management.

• Practical experience using the Aladdin Investment Management Platform.

• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle across equities, fixed income and foreign exchange.

• Experience with reconciliations, trade oversight, cash processing, settlement issues and corporate actions.

• Ability to investigate portfolio manager queries and understand issues from an end-to-end operational perspective.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to contribute effectively within a small, close-knit team.
