Head Housekeeper

Rocklea International Motel is an established accommodation provider located in Rocklea, Brisbane. We are committed to providing comfortable accommodation, excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest satisfaction.

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Housekeeper to oversee our housekeeping operations and ensure the efficient delivery of accommodation services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations across guest rooms, common areas and motel facilities.
• Manage and oversee housekeeping staff, including allocating duties, preparing rosters and monitoring performance.
• Establish and maintain cleaning procedures, operational standards and quality control measures.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, bathrooms, public areas and facilities to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained.
• Recruit, train and supervise housekeeping personnel to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the purchasing and replenishment of cleaning supplies, linen, toiletries and housekeeping equipment.
• Coordinate with reception, maintenance and management teams to ensure timely room availability and efficient guest services.
• Respond professionally to guest enquiries, complaints and special housekeeping requests.
• Maintain housekeeping records, cleaning schedules, stock registers and staff performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, hygiene standards and relevant operational policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve housekeeping efficiency, service quality and operational costs.
• Monitor housekeeping budgets, control expenditure and minimise wastage.
• Coordinate the reporting and resolution of maintenance issues identified during room inspections.
• Ensure all housekeeping activities are conducted in accordance with the motel's service standards and operational requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• AQF Certificate III or IV in Hospitality, Accommodation Services or a relevant field, or equivalent overseas qualification.
• Previous experience in hotel or motel housekeeping operations, preferably in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, coordinate daily operations and maintain accommodation service standards.
• Sound knowledge of housekeeping procedures, hygiene requirements and workplace health and safety practices.
