Electrical Mechanic
- Install, maintain and repair traffic signals, street lighting and ITS equipment.
- Fault-find, test and maintain electrical infrastructure.
- Work with CCTV, fibre, communications and vehicle detection systems.
AWX is looking for experienced Electrical Mechanics to join a well-established government infrastructure team based in Manunda, Cairns.
This is more than your standard electrical role.
You'll work on the infrastructure that keeps Cairns moving including traffic signals, street lighting, CCTV, fibre, communications and intelligent transport systems (ITS).
What You'll Do
- Install, maintain and repair traffic signals, street lighting and ITS equipment.
- Fault-find, test and maintain electrical infrastructure.
- Work with CCTV, fibre, communications and vehicle detection systems.
- Complete work safely and to required electrical and WHS standards.
What You'll Need
- Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence essential
- CPR & LVR
- White Card
- Queensland C Class Driver's Licence
- Relevant electrical experience in traffic signals, street lighting, infrastructure, industrial maintenance or field service
- Basic hand tools
Highly regarded:
- MR Licence
- EWP over 11m
- Working in Proximity to Traffic Parts 1 & 2
- ACMA Open Cabler registration with fibre, structured or coaxial endorsements
