Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

This state-of-the-art hospital in northern Sydney provides 488 beds for both public and private patients. As a premier Level 5 teaching facility, it houses a comprehensive 50-bed Emergency Department (ED) that serves as a vital 24/7 hub for the local community. The department is intelligently zoned to include dedicated spaces for Paediatrics, Adult Acute Assessment, Resuscitation, Mental Health, and a 24-hour Short Stay unit. Successful candidates will work within a diverse and inclusive team, utilizing world-class equipment and advanced digital health systems, including EMR and MEDCHART, to deliver high-quality, research-based emergency care.

Locum Details and Compensation

This role offers a competitive locum rate up to $54.89 per hour, with the final rate determined by the individual’s years of relevant registered nursing experience. The placement is currently open with a closing date of March 17, 2026. Of significant note for prospective applicants is the facility's upcoming transition into the NSW Health public network in late April 2026. Requirements and Role Expectations

• Professional Registration: Must hold current registration with AHPRA and possess a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent.

• Clinical Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in an Emergency Nursing environment is required, with a preference for those experienced in both adult and paediatric care.

• Education: A Post Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing (or progress toward one) is highly desired.

• Leadership & Teamwork: The role involves coordinating nursing care, supervising Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing, and working collaboratively within a high-functioning multidisciplinary team.
