Your new roleAs the Advanced Specialist Domestic and Family Violence Advocate, you will play a key leadership role in delivering specialist domestic and family violence services while supporting the professional development of a team of practitioners. You will provide advanced risk assessments, safety planning, case management, court support, crisis intervention, and referrals for clients experiencing domestic and family violence.The position will work closely with police, courts, community services, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated and effective responses for victim survivors. You will also provide practice leadership, mentoring, supervision, and guidance to DFV Advocates, assist with service development and quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to community education and stakeholder engagement activities.

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree qualification in a relevant human services discipline, or significant equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years' professional experience within domestic and family violence, community services, social work, counselling, case management, or a related field.
• Advanced knowledge of domestic and family violence legislation, risk assessment frameworks, information sharing practices, and trauma-informed approaches.
• Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, safety planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, and complex case management.
• Strong understanding of the impacts of trauma, including intergenerational trauma and culturally safe practice when working with First Nations peoples.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, courts, police, community organisations, and key stakeholders.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, documentation, and case notes.
• Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising practitioners.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence, Blue Card, and willingness to obtain a National Police Check.
