Business Analyst | Procurement Transformation | Brisbane

Your new company
Hays has partnered with a large Queensland Government department delivering an important procurement transformation program. The department is focused on expanding the adoption of a recently deployed procurement platform and helping government agencies realise its intended operational benefits.
Your new role
Reporting to the Director of Procurement Systems, you will undertake business analysis and requirements documentation to support a major procurement solution adoption and expansion program. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand operational needs, define requirements and identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and service outcomes.Your responsibilities will include:

• Facilitating business and technical workshops to identify requirements and define current and future-state processes
• Developing business-focused user stories, acceptance criteria and detailed business and technical requirements
• Securing stakeholder agreement on requirements, scope and expected outcomes
• Mapping requirements to business benefits and maintaining end-to-end traceability
• Developing process models and end-to-end service maps using appropriate modelling techniques
• Producing data integration and supporting requirements documentation
• Identifying opportunities to improve business processes, procedures and information systems
• Supporting organisational change and the successful adoption of a SaaS procurement solution
• Managing stakeholder expectations within an environment of competing priorities and limited resources

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of three years experience as a Business Analyst or in a role involving business process analysis and improvement
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into process maps, requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
• Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience developing detailed business, technical and data integration documentation
• Practical experience supporting business or organisational change
• Previous experience implementing or expanding a SaaS solution
• Experience working within Agile teams or Agile project delivery environments
• Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to simplify complex processes and requirements
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent planning, organisation and stakeholder management capabilities
