This position offers a great balance between workshop fabrication and on-site installation work, providing variety and long-term career stability.
Your new role
This is a hands-on role that will see you working both in the fabrication workshop and on residential construction sites throughout Melbourne.
- MIG welding structural steel components
- Site welding and installation of structural steel on residential projects
- Assisting with steel erection and fit-up work on site
- Grinding, cutting, drilling, and general fabrication duties
- Quality checking fabricated steel components
- Working safely and efficiently to meet project deadlines
- Collaborating with installers, fabricators, supervisors, and builders
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Structural Welder
- Strong MIG welding experience
- Experience working with structural steel
- Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings
- Experience performing site-based welding and installation work
- White Card
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- A positive attitude and strong commitment to workplace safety
