About the role:
Our team is growing, and we are currently seeking motivated individuals to join us in the position of Cleaners and Food Service Assistants at Wantirna Hospital (Melbourne, Victoria) on a Casual or Part Time basis. Located 50 minutes from the CBD, Wantirna hospital is a purpose-built repatriation Hospital servicing the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
The hospital operates across a 24/7 roster, with morning shifts (6:30am/7am-2:30/3pm), afternoon shifts (3pm-7pm) and nightshifts (11:30pm-7:30pm).
Key Responsibilities
Cleaners:
- Safe handling of chemical and/or hazardous substances in the performance of cleaning duties
- Decontamination of surfaces after the initial clinical waste spillage has been removed by clinical staff
- Identifying and recording any problems relating to cleaning services and/or safety
- Able to work within a 24/7 rotating roster
Food Service Assistants:
- Maintain a high standard of food services in accordance with Food Safety Legislation and Food Services Procedures
- Preparation and presentation of patient meals such as salads, sandwiches and drinks
- Cleaning and sanitizing of patient meal trays, cutlery, crockery and trolleys
- Preparation of work stations including assembly of items and stocking of consumables
- Able to work within a 24/7 rotating roster

About you
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and drive to deliver strong customer service
- Previous experience in a hospital or aged care environment is desired
- Current Food Safety Certificate is required for FSA roles
- Flexibility to work a rotational roster; including early mornings, night shifts, weekends and public holidays
- Police Clearance, or ability to obtain, is essential
- DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC), or ability to obtain, is essential
- Evidence of immunisation for current influenza is essential
