Our client is a leading civil contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, roadworks, bulk earthworks, subdivisions, drainage and utility projects across North Queensland. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking a driven Site Engineer or Project Engineer to join their Townsville team.

Your new role
Working closely with the Project Manager and Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of civil construction projects. You'll be involved in project planning, subcontractor management, QA, cost control, reporting, technical support and day-to-day site coordination. These responsibilities align with engineering and project delivery functions outlined in internal civil engineering position descriptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor construction activities on site.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and project resources.
- Review drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, QA records, ITPs and RFIs.
- Monitor project progress, costs and programme performance.
- Assist with variations, forecasting and reporting.
- Support site safety, environmental and quality compliance.
- Liaise with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
- Assist with surveying, set-out and project handover documentation.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering.
- Experience as a Site Engineer and/or Project Engineer within civil construction.
- Exposure to roads, subdivisions, bulk earthworks, drainage or infrastructure projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Sound understanding of quality, safety and project controls.
- Current Driver's Licence and White Card.
