Our client is a leading national law firm with a strong reputation for developing the next generation of legal professionals. An exciting opportunity has become available for a Graduate Lawyer to join their Darwin team, working within a specialised insurance and workers' compensation practice.
This role offers hands-on exposure to litigation matters from the outset, working alongside experienced lawyers in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will receive structured mentoring, ongoing professional development and the opportunity to build a long-term legal career with an employer that genuinely invests in its people.
The Opportunity:
As a Graduate Lawyer, you will work closely with senior lawyers on a range of workers' compensation and insurance matters. You will gain exposure to:
- Legal research and analysis
- Drafting correspondence, court documents and legal advice
- Reviewing and managing documents and evidence
- Preparing briefs and matter files
- Assisting with litigation and dispute resolution processes
- Client and stakeholder communication
- General file management and case administration
This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience across complex legal matters while developing strong technical and commercial skills.
About You:To be successful, you will have:
- A completed Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)
- Completion of Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (GDLP)
- Eligibility for admission, or recently admitted as an Australian Lawyer
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A genuine interest in litigation, insurance or workers' compensation law
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Highly regarded:
- Previous paralegal, law clerk or litigation support experience
- Exposure to insurance, personal injury or workers' compensation matters
