We are looking for an experienced Head Electrician with extensive knowledge of Australian electrical standards, regulations and compliance requirements to take responsibility for and lead our electrical department.

This position would suit someone who has previously supervised teams, is confident managing other electricians and apprentices, and can organise and coordinate work both for themselves and for other team members.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the electrical department and help us build, develop and grow this area of the business. You will have the opportunity to play an important role in how the department operates, including organising jobs, managing workloads, supervising staff, maintaining quality standards and helping to develop systems and processes as the business continues to grow.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Heading and overseeing our electrical department
  • Supervising and coordinating electricians and apprentices
  • Organising electrical jobs and allocating work to team members
  • Managing your own workload and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently
  • Planning upcoming works and coordinating with other trades and management
  • Ensuring all electrical work is completed in accordance with Australian Standards and relevant regulations
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and compliance
  • Assisting with quoting, estimating and planning electrical projects
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the way the electrical department operates
  • Helping recruit, train and develop additional electrical staff as the department grows
  • Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, trades and other contractors
  • Taking responsibility for the overall performance and development of the electrical department
