About the Role:  
  
Curtin University’s School of Allied Health is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team as a 0.5 FTE Lecturer (Teaching Academic).
  
This role is pivotal in enhancing the student learning experience through exceptional teaching practices and innovative curriculum design. The ideal candidate will promote and support student learning through mentoring and leadership, demonstrating a commitment to developing learning and teaching communities.
  
Your responsibilities will include: 
  
Teaching and Learning

• Conduct learning activities online, distributed or face-to-face as appropriate, which stimulate and foster student learning.
• Innovative curriculum design and development of learning materials in collaboration with other colleagues as appropriate.
• Determine the learning needs of students and provide appropriate teaching and learning support to demonstrate the intended learning outcomes.
• Assess and provide feedback on learning to students.
• Plan learning activities, units and/or courses that reflect a command of the field and is founded on research-based pedagogical practices.
• Keep abreast of current discipline theory and practice and apply these in teaching and learning.
• Contribute to curriculum innovation and design to develop students learning.

Service and Leadership

• Contribute to academic service, collegiality and engagement, including efficient management of internal service roles.
• Significantly contribute to external activities relevant to the discipline/profession and community engagement.
• Model a high standard of professional behavior consistent with the University Code of Conduct and Vision, Mission and Values.

Who we are looking for (selection criteria): 

1. Current registration with AHPRA
2. A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent accreditation and professional standing for Teaching Focused Clinical Professional role).
3. Demonstrated high-level teaching skills and a reflective approach to teaching delivery.
4. A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
5. An emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
6. Demonstrated experience/capacity to undertake unit coordination.
7. Demonstrated high-level communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.
8. Demonstrated commitment to the application of relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.

Role Requirements:

1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
2. 18.75 hours per week (0.5 FTE). The successful candidate will be able to negotiate their own preferred working schedule.

What We Offer You: 
  
This is a part time (0.5 FTE), 12 month fixed term position, with a salary range between $121,857 - $144,352 (ALB) per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
