Due to continued growth and an increasing number of residential construction projects, Kaura Homes is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team.
About the Role
The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing residential construction projects from commencement through to completion. The role requires strong project management capability, construction industry knowledge, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders including subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget, and in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
• Managing residential construction projects through all stages including planning, construction, monitoring, and completion.
• Preparing project schedules, budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
• Coordinating daily construction activities with site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients.
• Reviewing architectural drawings, engineering documentation, specifications, and construction plans.
• Monitoring project progress against agreed milestones and implementing corrective actions where required.
• Managing subcontractor engagement, performance, and workflow coordination.
• Conducting regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and compliance.
• Ensuring all construction activities comply with Victorian building regulations, contractual requirements, and workplace health and safety standards.
• Managing project risks, variations, delays, and construction issues.
• Preparing project progress reports and providing updates to senior management.
• Coordinating project handover activities and ensuring completion requirements are achieved.
• Maintaining accurate project documentation, records, and correspondence.
Skills and Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Construction Project Manager or similar role within the residential construction industry.
• Strong understanding of residential building processes, construction methodologies, and project lifecycle management.
• Experience managing residential building projects from planning through to completion.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and external consultants.
• Strong knowledge of construction documentation including drawings, contracts, specifications, and variations.
• Understanding of Victorian building codes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent project planning, organisation, and time management skills.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects within deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
• A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Building, Project Management, or a related discipline; and/or
• Demonstrated equivalent industry experience in residential construction project management.
