Our client is a well-established and highly regarded supplier to the construction sector. Based in Canning Vale, they are experiencing ongoing growth and are looking for a Glass Cutter to join their team. Day Shift: $30 - $32/hr + Super
Afternoon Shift: $37 - $40/hr + Super
Days - Mon - Thur 6am - 2:30pm, Fri 6am - 12pm
Afternoons - Mon - Thur 2:25pm - 11:10pm, Fri 12pm - 5pm
Key duties will include:
- Cutting float and laminated glass according to job specifications and production requirements
- Producing quality flat glass products while maintaining an efficient production flow
- Preparing optimisation programs for the cutting table
- Checking glass thickness, type and quality prior to cutting
- Inspecting glass for starts, scratches, shells and other defects before cutting
- Cutting laminated glass using appropriate tools and methods
- Checking measurements before stacking glass ready for the next stage of production
- Maintaining appropriate stock levels across autotable and freefall areas
- Keeping benches, cutting tables, machinery and surrounding areas clean and free from debris
- Safely managing glass offcuts and ensuring bins are maintained
- Completing and ensuring production paperwork is accurate and signed off
- Assessing the weight and size of glass before moving, using a two-person lift where required
- Maintaining a safe work area and following all PPE and WHS requirements
To be successful:
- Previous warehousing, manufacturing or similar experience
- Previous experience cutting glass, either by hand or machine, will be highly regarded
- Ability to work safely and follow workplace procedures
- Good attention to detail when working to measurements and job specifications
- Reliable, punctual and well disciplined
- Strong team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to maintain a neat and tidy work environment
