Seeking a Qualified Mechanic for a permanent position located in the northern suburbs

Your new role
As a Qualified Mechanic, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of fleet vehicles and equipment. You will deliver both scheduled and reactive maintenance while contributing to an efficient, customer-focused maintenance service.
Key responsibilities

  • Inspect engines, machinery, transmissions, and mechanical systems, conducting diagnostic tests to identify faults
  • Perform repairs to maximise reliability and minimise downtime
  • Troubleshoot reported issues and resolve them in a timely, professional manner.
  • Deliver proactive, scheduled maintenance programmes for all mobile assets
  • Respond to reactive and non-scheduled maintenance requests efficiently and positively.
  • Build and assemble mechanical components and machinery as required
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Replenish fluids and replace components as necessary
  • Undertake additional duties such as hydraulic system repairs and vehicle painting
  • Provide advice on correct maintenance and preventative measures to equipment users
  • Maintain accurate service logs and report on maintenance issues
  • Contribute to efficient, high-quality service delivery and positive stakeholder experience
  • Conduct risk assessments and adhere to safe work practices at all times

What you'll need to succeed

  • Trade qualification as a mechanic (essential)
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing fleet, plant, or machinery
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability
  • Exposure to hydraulic systems (desirable)
  • Commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality service delivery
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work both independently and within a team
