Cullet and Batch Plant Operator

The Role

Reporting directly to the Cullet Plant Supervisor, the Cullet and Batch Plant Operator will be responsible for the operation of Cullet and Batch Plant equipment to ensure optimal Raw Material delivery to the Glass Furnaces. The position is responsible for receiving, storing, processing raw materials, operating mobile plant, quality assurance and general B&F department upkeep. Operators will work on day or evening shift and may be required to rotate between the two.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Cullet Plant and Batch Plant areas to the agreed housekeeping standards
  • Maintain the mobile plant in good working condition
  • Cullet bay, Fines and CSP bay management
  • Take direction from the B&F Chemical Engineer/Cullet Plant Supervisor to assist with departmental activities as required
  • Receive trucks from external suppliers
  • Pallet tipping
  • Perform daily routine CIL’s across mobile plant utilised across Cullet/Batch Plant (Front End Loader, Truck and Forklift)
  • Other plant operations and quality inspection requirements as directed by team

About You

  • Are flexible and able to work across day and evening shifts as required
  • Hold a current High Risk Forklift Licence
  • Preferably hold a Front-End Loader ticket
  • Have strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Possess sound communication and team focus
  • Have a passion for safety and understanding of HSE practices
  • Take the initiative and be motivated to achieve goals
  • Are able to prioritise tasks and manage their time throughout the day
  • Have a positive and proactive approach to work tasks
  • Proven ability to be able to work autonomously, in a safe and efficient manner
