About the Role
Elemental Group Pty Ltd (Tommy’s Bar and Grill) is seeking both an experienced and motivated Cook and Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team on the Gold Coast. This is a hands‑on role in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment, ideal for someone who thrives under pressure and takes pride in producing consistent, high‑quality dishes.
Key Responsibilities (Chef)
- Oversee kitchen operations during busy service periods while also cooking as required
- Ensure quality and presentation stay consistent across every dish
- Plan menus and help manage food and labour costs, including ordering supplies as needed
- Monitor standards across all stations
- Demonstrate techniques and cooking procedures
- Keep the kitchen compliant with food safety and hygiene requirements
- Work closely with the Head Chef on service planning and kitchen decisions
Key Responsibilities (Cook)
- Prepare and deliver high‑quality meals during busy service periods
- Maintain consistency, speed, and presentation standards across all dishes
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, and service across multiple stations
- Support the team in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen
- Contribute to daily cleaning, equipment care, and general kitchen maintenance
- Work under the direction of the chefs to keep service running smoothly
Skills & Experience
- Certificate IV hospitality qualification or three years experience in lieu
- Minimum 1 years’ experience working as a Chef or Cook in a busy kitchen
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently during high‑volume service periods
- Experience with pizza preparation and cooking (highly regarded)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to quality
