Your new role

As the Communications Officer, you'll lead community engagement and public consultation activities while developing high-quality communications across a range of channels. You'll coordinate stakeholder engagement initiatives, create compelling content, manage social media and website communications, prepare media releases, and provide advice on communication strategies that support organisational objectives. This is a diverse role that combines strategic communications, public consultation, digital engagement and stakeholder management.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in communications, community engagement, public relations or stakeholder engagement
  • Strong understanding of community consultation principles and practices, ideally including the IAP2 Framework
  • Demonstrated experience developing content across digital, social media and traditional communication channels
  • Excellent written communication and creative content development skills
  • Experience analysing consultation feedback and preparing reports and recommendations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design platforms such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Relevant qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Social Science or a related discipline will be highly regarded
