Civil Supervisor & Leading Hand - Road Construction

We’re partnering with a well-established civil contractor delivering long-term road construction projects across Northern NSW and North-West Queensland.
Due to continued growth, we’re recruiting for two separate positions across different projects and crews:

• Civil Supervisor – leading a new crew
• Civil Leading Hand – joining an established crew

Both are hands-on positions requiring strong civil road construction experience, machinery operating capability and the relevant tickets/licences to operate plant and machinery on site.

Civil Supervisor – New Crew
Package: $180K base, with flexibility up to $220K for exceptional experience
Benefits: Company Ute
Roster: 2 weeks on / 1 week off
Location: Northern NSW & North-West QLD | DIDO/FIFO

We’re looking for an experienced hands-on Civil Supervisor to lead a new crew delivering remote road construction projects.
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the crew, coordinating people, plant and works while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
This isn't a clipboard-only position. We’re looking for someone who leads from the front and is willing and able to operate machinery when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a civil road construction crew
• Manage daily site activities, personnel, plant and workflow
• Coordinate works to meet project programmes and targets
• Operate machinery when required
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and productivity
• Deliver road construction, rehabilitation, reworks and new road builds
• Work closely with project management and other site personnel
• Identify and resolve day-to-day site issues

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience supervising civil construction crews
• Strong road construction and earthworks background
• Demonstrated machinery operating experience
• Current relevant plant/machinery tickets and licences
• Strong understanding of civil construction and site safety
• Hands-on leadership style
• Strong communication and crew management skills
• Ability to work remote projects on a 2:1 roster
• Current Driver Licence

 
Civil Leading Hand – Established Crew
Package: $130K–$150K
Benefits: Company ute + phone
Roster: 2 weeks on / 1 week off
Location: Northern NSW & North-West QLD | DIDO/FIFO

We’re also seeking an experienced Civil Leading Hand to join a separate, established crew working across remote road construction projects.
Working alongside the existing Supervisor and crew, you’ll assist with coordinating day-to-day activities while remaining actively involved in the works.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Leading Hand or senior operator who can lead smaller work fronts, operate machinery and support the Supervisor in keeping the crew productive and on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor with daily crew and site coordination
• Lead smaller work fronts and allocated tasks
• Carry out hands-on civil road construction works
• Operate machinery as required
• Coordinate operators, labour and plant
• Maintain safety, quality and productivity standards
• Support road construction, rehabilitation, reworks and new road builds
• Help keep daily works progressing efficiently

What You’ll Need

• Strong civil road construction experience
• Previous Leading Hand experience highly regarded
• Demonstrated machinery operating experience
• Current relevant plant/machinery tickets and licences
• Ability to lead small crews and work fronts
• Strong safety awareness
• Good communication and practical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work remote projects on a 2:1 roster
• Current Driver Licence
