The Opportunity

ROUSSOS Recruitment is proud to partner with Outside Ideas, a growing South Australian civil contractor entering an exciting new phase after securing more than $60M in new projects.

With a strong forward pipeline and plans to continue expanding its team, Outside Ideas is looking for a Civil Project Engineer who wants to develop their career alongside the business.

Outside Ideas has built a strong reputation not only for its project capability, but also for its people and culture. Many employees have remained with the business for more than five years, with internal progression playing an important role in the continued growth of the team.

You will gain exposure across civil infrastructure, structural concreting and large-scale landscaping projects, with the support and responsibility to progress towards Senior Project Engineer and ultimately Project Management.
And importantly, it's Monday to Friday – no weekend work.

The Role

Working alongside experienced Senior Project Engineers, Project Managers and site teams, you will contribute across the full lifecycle of civil projects while gradually taking on greater responsibility.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of civil infrastructure projects
• Managing engineering activities across project programmes and key milestones
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and project stakeholders
• Ensuring works meet design, quality and compliance requirements
• Supporting site teams with technical and engineering requirements
• Completing Quality Assurance and WHS checks
• Preparing Work Method Statements, ITPs and project documentation
• Taking on increasing responsibility as you progress towards SPE and Project Management

Outside Ideas is looking for a Project Engineer who wants more than simply another project to work on.
You will ideally bring:

• Experience as a Project Engineer within civil construction or infrastructure
• A relevant tertiary qualification
• Exposure to civil infrastructure project delivery
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work effectively with Project Managers and Site Supervisors
• A proactive approach to project and site challenges
• Ambition to progress towards Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager

This would particularly suit someone who feels they are on the cusp of stepping into an SPE-level position and wants to join a business where that progression is achievable.
