We are a busy restaurant serving on average over 1,000 meals per day of the week and it is most important for us to consistently deliver quality food, excellent meal presentation and speedy service. The position of Chef in our organization is an integral and most important part regarding us achieving high standards.

Chef de Partie

Main Tasks:

  1. Planning, preparing and producing a range of menu items including, but not limited to, appetisers, salads, seafoods, and other mains.
  2. Assembling and preparing ingredients for menu items in enabling Cooks to learn techniques required for the preparation of each food item.
  3. Monitoring the quality of dishes in all preparation and presentation stages.
  4. Planning and organising logical work sequences within time restraints.
  5. Prioritising menus, recipes and task sheets - and assigning them to Cooks and other kitchen staff.
  6. Developing recipes and menus.
  7. Meeting specialist dietary requests and catering for these via tailored options.
  8. Handling problems such as shortage of food items (including by placing and negotiating on new orders), mistakes, problem in food production or equipment failure.
  9. Identifying and responding to conflict situations within the kitchen environment.
  10. Ensuring high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout kitchen area.
  11. Liaising with other staff members (both kitchen, floor and management) as means to work cooperatively with them to ensure that operations move smoothly; and
  12. Demonstrating a high standard of personal hygiene and correcting issues in that regard whenever others fail to do so.

Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of work experience as a chef.

- Minimum Commercial Cookery and Hospitality Management course or relevant courses.

- Australian work rights are required.

The Employer will also make superannuation payment on your behalf in accordance with superannuation Guarantee.

Full-time and ongoing Workload:38 hours per week
