We take pride in our attention to detail, quality workmanship and exceptional customer service, carrying forward the skills and values passed down through generations.

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis, carrying out timber flooring installation, subfloor carpentry, decking, stair component installation, repairs and associated finishing carpentry across residential and commercial projects.

You will interpret drawings and specifications, select and prepare materials, cut and assemble timber components, and complete installations with accuracy and care.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Read and interpret building plans, specifications and installation details to determine materials, dimensions, layouts and the sequence of carpentry work.

· Measure and set out work areas, establish reference lines and component positions, and check site dimensions and levels before installation.

· Select suitable timber, flooring boards, fixings, adhesives and other materials, calculate the quantities required, and coordinate material requirements with the supervisor.

· Inspect existing timber subfloors, frameworks and joists for damage or unevenness, and construct, repair or replace supporting timber components where required.

· Measure, cut, fit and secure plywood and other specified subfloor panels to supporting timber members, checking joints, fixings, levels and alignment.

· Cut, shape, fit and assemble timber flooring boards and associated components using appropriate hand and power tools and specified fixing methods.

· Lay solid timber flooring, engineered timber flooring and parquetry components as specified, ensuring accurate layouts, well-fitted joints, appropriate perimeter clearances and neat transitions to adjoining surfaces.

· Carry out sanding, staining, sealing and other finishing work to timber flooring in accordance with project specifications.

· Set out, cut, assemble and install timber decking components, including supporting timber members where included in the project scope.

· Measure, cut, fit and secure timber stair treads, risers, nosings and associated trims in accordance with project details.

· Measure, cut, fit and fix skirting boards, trims and other timber finishing components, ensuring accurate joints and a neat fit against adjoining surfaces.

· Renovate and repair existing timber flooring and associated fixtures by removing damaged sections and fitting replacement boards, trims and other components.

· Check completed work for level, alignment, fit and secure fixing, and rectify defects before handover or subsequent finishing work.

· Safely operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment, coordinate work with supervisors and other trades, and maintain a safe, clean and organised work area.

About you

·A Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant trade qualification.

·Relevant practical experience in on-site carpentry, particularly timber flooring installation, subfloor work and associated timber fixtures.

·The ability to use carpentry hand and power tools safely and effectively.

·Strong attention to detail and the ability to check levels, alignment and installation quality.

·A reliable approach to work and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·Good communication skills and a sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

·A current driver’s licence and a valid White Card.
