About the Role

Our government client is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance inspector to support the delivery of a Condition Assessment Program. This role is responsible for undertaking audits and condition assessments across a range of nominated assets and sites, ensuring accurate and reliable asset data is collected to support maintenance planning and investment decisions.

Working closely with internal teams and stakeholders, you will play a key role in identifying maintenance requirements, documenting asset conditions, and contributing to the successful delivery of organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct condition assessments and audits across a portfolio of assets and facilities.
  • Collect, analyse and accurately record asset condition data.
  • Prepare clear and concise audit findings and condition reports.
  • Identify maintenance requirements, defects and compliance issues.
  • Interpret technical drawings, asset information and specifications.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and site representatives to coordinate assessments.
  • Ensure assessments are completed in accordance with program requirements, industry standards and workplace health and safety obligations.
  • Assist with prioritisation and planning activities through the provision of accurate condition data.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Relevant qualifications, trade background, or demonstrated experience in construction, building inspection, asset maintenance or a related field.
  • Experience undertaking condition assessments, asset inspections or audit-based programs.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, plans and specifications.
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and relevant industry standards.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current C Class Driver Licence.
  • Construction Industry White Card.
  • Access to approved safety footwear.
  • Casual business attire suitable for site inspections.
  • Access to a mobile phone.

Highly Desirable

  • Knowledge of building defects, maintenance requirements and compliance obligations.
  • Previous experience within government, facilities, property or asset management environments.
  • Experience working across large-scale asset inspection or maintenance programs.
