Established in 2002, NLC Engineering is a locally-owned & operated business specializing in Line Boring, General & CNC Machining & engineering. We pride ourselves on providing quality products, friendly service and fast turnaround times to clients throughout Kalgoorlie as well as the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.

We are currently looking for qualified and experienced individuals to fill the below positions:

  1. Boilermakers
  2. Heavy Diesel Fitters
  3. Line Borers
  4. CNC / Manual Machinists
  5. Auto Electricians

These are full-time, on-site role located in Kalgoorlie, WA. Salary is $55 - $75 per hour commensurate to skills and experience.

BOILERMAKERS

  1. Trade qualification and 2 years related experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
  4. Strong safety focus and the ability to operate within WHS policies.
  5. Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills – ability to solve problems.

HEAVY DIESEL FITTERS

  1. Heavy Diesel Mechanical Trade Certificate - Australian Recognized
  2. Minimum three (3) years post trade experience
  3. Previous experience in mobile equipment repairs
  4. Replacing components, completing breakdown diagnostics and general servicing
  5. A pro-active approach to resolving issues and excellent attention to detail
  6. Demonstrated commitment to safety & ZeroHarm

LINE BORERS

As a Line Borer, you will be responsible for setting up and operating line boring machinery to repair or produce metal components, including drilling, turning, and boring to tight tolerances.

  1. Experience in operating line boring machinery and using manual and power tools to shape and cut steel components
  2. Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  3. Knowledge of welding techniques
  4. Ability to inspect finished products to ensure they meet the required standards
  5. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  6. Certifications in relevant areas of study such as welding, machining, or engineering are desirable
  7. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

CNC / MANUAL MACHINISTS

  1. Trade qualified CNC Machinist/Programmer or manual machinist.
  2. Previous workshop experience.
  3. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  4. Positive work attitude
  5. Problem solving skills

AUTO ELECTRICIANS

As an Auto Electrician, you will need to demonstrate strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.

Applicant Requirements:

  1. Relevant trade qualifications are highly desired.
  2. At least three (3) years of relevant work experience as an Auto Electrician or in a similar role.
  3. Previous experience working with Sandvik, CAT, Epiroc, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, underground mining equipment, and auxiliary support equipment is preferred.
  4. Conduct diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on heavy mobile equipment.
  5. Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on mining machinery.
  6. Repair and install electrical systems, wiring harnesses, sensors, lighting, and control systems.
  7. Diagnose CANBUS and electronic control faults.
  8. Read and interpret electrical schematics and OEM manuals.
  9. Complete inspections and proactively identify defects.
  10. Ensure all work complies with site safety procedures and Australian Standards.
  11. Accurately complete service reports, timesheets, and maintenance documentation.
  12. Work collaboratively with maintenance teams, supervisors, and planners.
  13. Support shutdowns, field service, and workshop activities as required.
