We are partnering with a global financial services firm with a strong presence across commodities and environmental markets. The business is recognised for its deep market expertise, strong client relationships, and technology-driven trading capabilities across both on- and off-exchange products.
As part of continued growth, we are seeking an Associate within Carbon Sales Trading to join a high-performing energy and environmental products team in Sydney.
The Role
This is a client-facing position suited to an ambitious and commercially minded individual looking to build a career within environmental products. You will manage and grow a portfolio while working closely with institutional clients across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients
- Act as a key point of contact, providing market updates and insights
- Identify opportunities to expand client activity and grow revenue
- Support onboarding of new clients and ongoing relationship management
Revenue & Business Growth
- Drive revenue growth across carbon and environmental products
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to client acquisition
- Monitor client performance, revenue, and risk metrics
- Contribute to strategic initiatives to improve profitability
Trading & Market Engagement
- Engage in commodities markets, with a focus on carbon, power, and renewables
- Work closely with clients including banks, hedge funds, trading houses, and corporates
- Analyse market trends to support trading strategies and client engagement
Collaboration & Operations
- Partner with internal teams including risk, operations, and technology
- Support process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements
About You
- Experience within financial markets, commodities, or sales trading
- Strong analytical and commercial mindset
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
- Understanding of risk, compliance, and regulated environments
- Proactive, resilient, and able to take ownership
