Aboriginal Health Worker, Healthy Connections for Active Ageing
- Support health promotion activities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members aged 50+
- Engage with the community to improve health outcomes through screening and chronic disease management

About the role
This position is available at part-time hours (0.2 FTE per week), fixed term until 31 August 2027, located in Bega.
The Aboriginal Health Worker will work to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The primary responsibility of the position is to support the delivery of health promotion activities to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members 50+ years of age through community engagement, health screening, integrated care and chronic disease management, and health promotion.

Skills & Experience
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within the Aboriginal communities of the region and surrounding areas.
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or health related discipline or willingness to work towards
- Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people and their health and ability to effectively engage, and communicate sensitively, with Aboriginal people to address their health needs
- Experience in developing and maintaining successful partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and communities
